ContiSeal is a technology developed by Continental, designed to seal damaged tread surfaces. If foreign objects, such as nails, penetrate the tire, you won't have to change the tire by the roadside immediately, and punctures remain sealed—even if the object comes out. ContiSeal is a sticky, viscous sealant layer. It is applied to the inner side of the tire in the tread area. ContiSeal seals 80% of all punctures, therefore reducing the risk of tire failures. ContiSeal tires are clearly marked with a symbol on the sidewall and are compatible with all commonly available wheels. ContiSeal and other technologies are available for selected product lines.
