New! Nokian Hakkapeliitta 01 – a studded tyre whose studs adapt to temperature. Now at Teräs-Rengas in Oulu.
Nokian Tyres has launched an entirely new kind of studded tyre. The Hakkapeliitta 01's Double Action Stud technology uses an adaptive base layer under the studs: in freezing conditions the layer hardens and keeps the studs out for maximum ice grip, and in milder weather it softens so the studs sink deeper into the tread. The tyre grips the ice when you need it and wears the road less on bare surfaces.
According to the manufacturer, compared with the Hakkapeliitta 10:
- Up to 10% better ice grip
- 5% better wet grip
- Up to 30% less road wear
- About 1 dB quieter in the cabin thanks to SilentDrive
The Hakkapeliitta 01 is designed for passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs and carries the 3PMSF snowflake and ice grip markings.
